Sector ETFs
It is amassing - it took me several hours to find the list of stocks (companies) for the S&P sector indexes. By some reason you will not find it on the Standard & Poors website or on the SPDRs' website. Even you may find the stock listing for the S&P 500, S&P 600, S&P 100 and S&P 400 indexes, you will not find there any information about sector indexes. Still if you trade SBDRs sector Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) this information could be quite useful. the SPDRs sector ETFs are quite popular. By checking their trading volume you may see that XLF (Financial Sector), XLI (Industrial Sector) and XLP (Consumer Staples Sector) are traded almost on the same level as QQQ (Nasdaq 100 Tracking Stock) and IWM (Russell 2000 Tracking stock). In the table below you will find the list of the stocks (companies) by market sector according to the Standard & Poors classification. If you trade SPDRs Sector ETFs this table will give you at least an understanding what public companies are covered by sector ETFs.
